Student Led Conferences
A Time to Celebrate Learning
March 19th, 20th, and 21st
February 14, 2025
Dear Parents/Guardians:
The end of Quarter 3 is quickly approaching. I would like to invite you to make a 20 minute appointment for a conference on either March 19th, 20th or 21st. These conferences will be Student Led Conferences. The purpose of Student Led Conferences is to support students becoming more motivated, reflective, and evaluative about their work. Our goal is for students to become more engaged in their learning by becoming active participants in the process.
Students are required to attend conferences with their parents. You will sign up with your child's House Leader. House leaders will assign each parent conference to a teacher in their house. Please use this link to find your child’s House Leader. One of your child’s teachers will meet with you and your scholar for a 20 minute conference. During this time your scholar will discuss their academic progress so far this school year. Your scholar will lead the conference, sharing goals, work samples, and academic progress data. If at the end of the conference you still feel the need to talk to the teacher, please request a meeting or house meeting for a date in the future. Unified Arts Teachers will also have scheduled times when parents can schedule conferences with them. Teachers (such as Art, Music, Physical Education, Math Mastery, Reading Mastery, TAP / CTE, World Language, and Challenge) are also available to meet with you for 10-minute conferences, but on a first come, first serve basis.
All conferences are being scheduled online at https://www.myconferencetime.com/sageparkms Conference Sign ups begin Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Conference time slots will be filled as requests are received online. Online registrations will receive instant confirmation. A confirmation email and letter will be sent to you with the teacher's name and room number.
Information about childcare is forthcoming from our Family Resource Center. As usual, we will also have childcare services for families with small children between the ages of 5-10. Sage Park National Junior Honor Society students (supervised by adults) will watch children in the Family Resource center while the parents/ guardians attend conferences. To use the service, please stop by the Family Resource Center in room 176 about 10 minutes before the scheduled time of your conference.
We will not be able to accommodate walk-in requests for conferences on March 19th, 20th, & 21st. If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact your child’s School Counselors.
We are looking forward to having an opportunity to meet with you about your child’s progress.
Sincerely,
William Fisher
